What I Tested

Screening and What Comes Next

Lab screening in progress (not field validated yet)

Tested Materials

Cotton Fabric

Pa-Khao-Ma

Wood

Natural substrate

Trials

5 trials per material (control vs. treated where applicable)

Metrics

Self-extinguishing time

Time from ignition to self-extinguish

Char length

Measured from scale reference

Test Setup & Results

REC

Flame Screening (n=5): Control vs Treated (APP-based)

Results (screening):

  • Treated self-extinguished in ≤5s (n=5)
  • Char length from still images (n=5)
  • Control burned longer (see video)
Trial log: Treated (APP based), n=5
Trial Time (s) Char Length
T1 5 s 7.0 cm
T2 3 s 7.8 cm
T3 4 s 7.7 cm
T4 5 s 7.9 cm
T5 5 s 7.1 cm

*Timing: first flame contact → self-extinguish (screening)
*Char length: measured from still images with same scale reference

Observations

  • The gel showed slower ignition and reduced sustained burning compared to controls under screening conditions.
  • Treated prototypes showed reduced sustained burning compared to controls under screening conditions.

Deployment Demo Note (Truth Lock)

Deployment demo: conducted at home to evaluate portability and setup workflow of the firebreak mat prototype.
Next step: field testing planned in Chiang Mai.

Unroll

Testing mat setup speed and portability

Place

Ensuring firm contact with varied surfaces

Secure

Verifying stability under simulated conditions

Next Validation (90 days)

Pilot KPIs (50:50)

  • Bio-Shield: slope speed | burn-through delay
  • Eco-Coat: Kit (T559) | Cobb60 (secondary)

Next 90 days

  • M1: build + document protocols
  • M2: pilots (Chiang Mai field + converter trials)
  • M3: verify (Kit + Cobb60) + report

Disclaimer

These are prototypes, not certified products. Performance targets will be confirmed through pilots and standards-based testing.
